Is an Elkhart 300 the same horn as a Getzen 300?

    Cheers all.

Are you sure it is an Elkhart and not an Elkhorn? We are located in Elkhorn, WI and in the fifties there was a line of Getzen instruments sold under the name Elkhorn.

    Claude,

The Elkhorn by Getzen was a student line horn. Some played well, but most were fair and great for students. As to the Getzen that looked like an Olds Super, that was the Getzen Super Deluxe. They were a pro level horn, some will disagree. I have many of them and they all play nicely. If you havnt tried one, I would recommend you do.
