embochure plays "in the red"

    To be honest the mouthpiece does sit at the top of my top lip when I start playing so you can't really see it, but comes out after hours of playing. This usually happens after marching and playing high notes for about 2 - 3 hours.

    I don't think that ANYONE here at TrumpetMaster can claim the knowledge to tell you what to do! Maybe you need help, maybe you don't. There is not a list of parameters to match to determine what is right and wrong. We need to see and hear you play at a lesson to know what your problem is.

    I put my students on a heavy dose of lipslurs. Then their embouchures gravitate to their natural, most efficient position. Assume that they are playing them correctly with low pressure (it is my job to monitor pressure and deficient body use). If our lips are not fixed due to pressure, they are free to wander a bit, we then develop good habits by using our ears - not our eyes.
