I just picked up an old EMO Professional trumpet to use as a beater to take camping etc. I know EMO is a contraction for Ernst Modl.....that's about all I have been able to find out. It has a matte silver finish (and not a pretty one) and doesn't seem to be built very well. Is this horn any good? Does it have any value that may make me reconsider it's use? I know, I know: "How does it play.....do you like it." doesn't really apply to me, I just started playing after a 38 year break. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Bonehed,

If you search the forum you will find info on the EMO, there was a thread a little while ago, I belive the EMO was advertised as being played by Louis Armstrong on his Australian tour in the late 50's.

Welcome back to playing, I had a break of 36 years also.
