I may have the opportunity to buy an "F. Besson - Kanstul" horn at an extremely reasonable price but I'm looking for more info on it. On the bell it say "FB, Systeme Prototype, Paris - France, Meha, F. Besson, 66 Hautes Recompenses, 6 Grand Prix, Hors Concours, Membre Du Jury". The valve body is stamped with serial # 4366, and "F. Besson, Kanstul".

Can anyone provide me with info on this trumpet. Actually, i'm not sure if it is a Bb or not.

    Thanks!

Take a look at this thread from trumpetherald:

That instrument is certainly a Bb horn, and according to Flip in the thread it's an early Kanstul Meha .460 bore, and it was manufactured in the early '80s. Since the auction has four more days to go, you can expect the price to rise on the last day - my guess is that it will go for between $500 and $600, still a pretty good price if there's nothing wrong with it.
