I have a full (all over, but short) beard, and have also endured the pain of a pulled 'stache hair when it gets too long. I use a Wahl hair trimmer to keep it all short.

I play large mouthpieces, and other than the 'stache hairs have no noticible problems due to the facial fur.

Oh, one thing: be careful not to get a hair into your horn, as it can work it's way down into the valves and cause it to stick! I know this from one near disaster playing at a wedding!! Fortunately, I was able to blow air hard through the horn during an organ only passage, and get it out of the way!

I have had a full beard and mustache for the last 30 years, never lost contact with the mouthpiece. Maybe I am just lucky and never thought about it..................
