I recently posted this same thread in the Jazz Forum, but it didn't show up anywhere. So, I am reposting it here.

I recently started to learn how to play the changes in a Jazz setting. I am trying to learn to solo. I am having alot of fun with it, and seem to be doing fairly well. I have been working on ballads mostly, it is just easier for a newbie like me to hear the changes coming when its slower.

So, I thought it would be interesting to know what are some of your favorite tunes to solo around? I have 2 that I really enjoy playing thet are:

    The Shadow of Your Smile
    The Nearness of You

Lately, "Wayfaring Stranger" is cool. Very emotional and a good exercise in dynamics.
