Arban's? Being a "comeback" player - and also have an upper denture plate, I really have to be careful and take it easy while working on my tone and range. But anyway, when warming up with the Arban's book, I start with #46 on page 20 and #47 on page 21.

I have been using what appears to be the oilskin edition for the past half century,(had my first couple stolen earlier on) and found that there were a number of decent approaches to keeping the page exposed...but only marginally so until I discovered the all in one 'copy' machine. From that point forward I have scanned for me...and faxed to playing partners.

{Of course I NEVER did this without the expressed permission of Monsieur Arban's poltergeist}.

    His poltergeist inhabits YOUR house?

Strange, I thought he co-owned a Quick-Lube in Waco, TX, along with Elvis Presley and Lee Harvey Oswald.

Too many to choose from, but page 20 and number 46 gets my nod. Here's my friend Tony from Italy playing it: http://www.trumpetexercises.com/SITE/Mp3/Arban/1/files/Arban Pag 20 N.46.mp3

Here's his excellent website full of Arban recordings: Mp3

If you have an iPad there is a new Arban app. Complete version, you can make notes, bookmark bits etc. very useful if travelling, as you will always have the Arban with you.

Dale, I'd be grateful if you'd share the details, as that is much more useful (and economical) than a page by page scan method that I employ.

Two of my favourites as well. #32 page 34 is another good low intensity workout.

Well, as I said, I'm not sure where my wife took it, but they just sliced the binding off, punched all the loose pages, and put them on a large spiral coil. The book will then lay flat when it's open.
