    Grand Rapids, Mi.
My neighbor across the street is the principal clarinetist with the Grand Rapids, Mi. Symphony. She showed up at my door today with a trumpeter in tow. Mike Bowman, principal trumpet with the same orchestra. Suzy had heard me playing in my office and thought that Mr. Bowman should meet me, or, perhaps vice versa. I still felt greatly honored. We had a good time playing most of my trumpets and cornets. Now, he wants me to drop by at his house bringing one of my horns, so that he and I can play a couple of duets. I like the guy. Heck of a musician too.

That guy was my first teacher for a couple years! I grew up in Sparta and my mom brought me in for lessons with Mike. Great guy, terrific musician.
