I have a schilke s32 and was cleaning and greasing the slides and accidentally put silver polish on the first valve slide> It slides but not as freely as before. I tried emery paper on an old trumpet and did not work any suggestions? Thanks

Good cleaning in water and mild dishsoap (Dawn, Dove, Ajax, Pomolive etc.. Rub with some force for a while with a cotton cloth -microfiber would be even better. Then, lube as usual. You will also need to clean the female tube -same way. Run cloth through.

Valve oil is a great cleaner.
Put valve oil on the slide and work it a bunch and then wipe it. Repeat.
