I am happy to say that my experiment is a success. My Buescher flugel with a new Humes and Berg 131 Sh! Sh! Quiet Mannie Klein practice mute (plastic, not metal) feels about like my trumpet does without a mute.

Therefore, I can play long tones and lip slurs while watching TV and not get thrown out of my apartment.

Any pics? Video would be cool too... Always love hearing flugel sounds on video!

For you, I will take a pic. A practice mute by necessity doesn't sound like anything. :-)

I covet your flugelhorn, Tom. I'll send you my address. You send me the flugel. You can even keep the mute.

It is beautiful and should be called a fluget - or just fluget it. It takes a cornet piece too, right? A corgelhorn - a cordial idea. A cormudgeon! Like Tom!
