    Hi :

Just thinking about getting a nice folding music stand for practice etc. Any Favorites?

    Thanks

I have an "Ashton" folding stand which is painted black and has handy stays to keep music books open. Because it's black, if I use a black music folder I could get away with using it with the band I was in who otherwise had their own solid black stands.
Mechanically very similar to other music stands I've had but better built, and has fairly good rubber feet which don't scratch wood.

I like the look and function on that one but how high will it go?

I dunno, I've only gotten to DHC while playing in front of it. Oh. Four feet to the bottom of the desk.

Hi Supertoastfairy, does the blade against which the music is laid fold up any smaller?

Hercules make a very good music stand. Works on a friction lock system, so no need to tighten scews etc.

K├Ânig & Meyer - model 107, which comes either in black (107B) or nickel plating (107N). Max height 1.5 m, floor to bottom of music holder. Sill get your music into the proper position even if it's one step lower than yourself. The most stable folding music stand I've ever encountered, can withstand wuite strong winds while carrying up to two Arbans at the same time. Any available attachment will fit (mute/music/cup holders, ashtray, whatever). It's my #1 gig stand when equipped with mute tray, music holder, cup holder and trumpet hook.

But you are always carrying two bits, and that music holder is none too handy...
