I am still "coming back" as well. One thing I can recommend is long tones in the low register..pedal tones also help to build upper range. I came back after 40+ years 4 months ago and can now blow a consistent High C with an occasional D. I would also recommend the Clark book. The first 4 exercises will get boring quick and will do all sorts of good things for you. Good luck.

As many times as I've played songs in my repertoire ... they've become "boring" ... but what has that got do with making music others would like to hear.

...and I got quite a few good informative responses http://www.trumpetmaster.com/vb/f131/when-youve-captured-magic-81150.html#post814949.

As Ivan says, it's looking at the condition from the opposite perspective, but that can often be a good thing.

PS. Read Vulgano Brother's post on this thread very carefully. I wish he'd posted it (in as well-worded a form) a year ago. Might have saved me a bit of grief.

Not a thing. I was shooting for some encouragement.
