years and years ago I was playing with the brass band I play with and the soloist was playing post horn gallop and circular breathed the cadenza and then the last note while walking round the audience and stood behind this one girl and just played this one note for a few minutes, she was in stitches laughing.

this got me thinking now Ive got to do a few recital/concerts for uni I might try something funny.....

the main things ive come up with are:
sitting in the audience and playing the head then joining the band on stage.
playing in different corners of the room for ever section
circular breathing the last note and walking round

    thoughts?

any other of you guys done anything similar or have any ideas?

Between the second and third movements of PDQ Bach's Music for an Awful Lot of Winds and Percussion a "fight" started in the percussion section and the conductor "broke it up"

I suppose the entire piece is somewhat along the lines of your question though...

Pretend that you lost a sheet of music and circular breathe on a note for a long time until you "find" the page in an obscure spot.

When I was in college (many moons ago) we used to end each year during the recital hour with a PDQ Bach concert. The students and professors would all get involved (the Dean of Music would even act as narrator)
Loads of laughs and most of the music is published I believe, although we also did a lot of ad lib.
    Good times!
