I don't attend (my) church regularly however the music director (organist) requests me and my son for their ceremonial masses, Easter, Christmas, sometimes "The Feast of St Martha". we don't charge however one, and sometimes both of us are asked to perform wedding's by the music director. We perform about a ten or so a year. I, or we, prepare thoroughly and enjoy that type of gig and it's nice when some of the wedding congregation express appreciation for doing a good job and sometimes ask us to perform for another event. The money isn't bad for maybe 10-15 mins of overall playing.

I loved the response of one of Rilling's old trumpeters: "Bach wrote this for trumpet. He knew the trumpet is loud. If he wanted it soft he would have written it for recorder!"
