    Hi!

I got my trumpet out today, I noticed that there was a bronze/goldish mark on it.
My trumpet is silver-plated and I have tried to get it off with no success:-(
Does anybody have any idea what it could be, or how I could get rid of it?
    Thanks!

I'm new to trumpetmaster so sorry if this is in the wrong place... I'm still getting the hang of it...

If I can work out how, I'll try to put up a photo.

    Welcome to TM, trumpetytrump!

It sounds like the silver plating wore off in that spot. Is it in a part of the trumpet your hands touch while playing or someplace the case might be rubbing it?

I don't touch it when I'm playing, and as far as I'm aware, it doesn't rub on my case... It's a bit puzzling.

Many techs have spot platers for those kinds of touch ups.

It looks like the plating has flaked off.
This can happen if the horn hasn't been degreased properly before the plating process.

 I think the spot plate idea is a good one...
