Are there any gig bags that are especially good for outdoor use. I like to shoot movies outdoors, hiking, canoeing etc... I use flutes and conchs to do so often, but I would use the trumpet too, but my cases are a little bulky. I am thinking about something relatively stiff that can be put in a back pack and looks distinguished when scuffed or wet.

I think the leather ones look great all scuffed. Like a piece of old furniture that is showing it's age and how it's been used.
But still the Laredo is pretty big. I like my lithe reunion blues for 'getting by'. It won't save your horn if you fall back on it, but it does fit in more spaces. I travelled through Cuba with my horn in the RB case and only had to have a small realignment when I returned. (those busses get crowded.)
I treat all my leather bags for all weather... Mink oil, etc.

Depends if your wearing it or carring your horn in it now; doesn't it Chuck?

It looks like they have the leather ones for a premium too. Thanks!

They do, and I just took delivery on the Chocolate brown Lorado, with all the bling! It is a FABULOUS case.

Hehe, It seems like a do it yourself type could come up with a pretty stylish case, though you would probably spend more in materials than it costs to buy one pre-made.

I was thinking about making a carbon fiber molding specifically for my trumpet then wrapping it in canvas for a nice bright look. That could be pretty involved.
