Has anyone played in the pit for Hairspray? I've just been asked and was curious about the book; since I haven't seen it yet.

I've done Hairspray. It's great fun, bit of a roast at times tho. Drop me a PM and I'll give you the highs and lows.

Thanks Nick.. By now, I've seen the book and had a couple rehearsals. Fortunately, the music is pretty straight-forward rock. Unfortunately it has some passages that spend a fair amount of time above the staff. My lip was roasted after last night's 4 hour rehearsal.

Ever since I got the book, about two weeks ago, I've been working on my endurance and range.. so hopefully by the night of the show it won't go too badly. And I'll take my cheater mouthpiece just in case.
