...And, as a very wise man with way more notches on his belt than I have on mine constantly says around here...

"There are three things you must practice,

    1.Tone

    2.Tone

    3.Tone."

And I would add, quit worrying about the high notes, and try to retrain yourself to play from the center off your lips. That off-to-the-side thing is kind of weird...and, well, not quite right.

True enough... then as for the most of the remainder of the TM community... well we talk about:

    1. Mouthpiece

    2. Mouthpiece

    3. Mouthpiece

I vote more for the Tone concept myself.

    Clothes make the man
    but
    Mouthpieces don't GIVE you range.

    Three words of advice.
    Practice, practice, practice.

Yes, in fact they do... a wide RANGE of opinion about what mouthpieces can and cannot do!

More or less, depends on the player and what they can or cannot do. No mouthpiece is an instant improvement maker, but some instantly make playing worse until the player learns to make it work as they intend.

Two factors I consider .... comfort and TONE !

excellent suggestions. Be resourceful, it may take some work but finding places where you can play with an open horn are invaluable. You need to play non an open horn at your level to develop you sound/embouchure.

Your mpc is great, don't change.

gid120, How long have you been playing?
