Does anyone have information on this trumpeter? I found one ITG article on him but I would like to know about his performance career after WWII.

    TrumpeT,

Helmut Wobisch was the Principal Trumpet with the Vienna Philharmonic and was a member of the orchestra from 1939 – 1978 (this information was provided by Dr. Silvia Kargl, Historisches Archiv der Wiener Philharmoniker). The other Principal at this time was Josef Levora (1934-1974) and they “shared†a mouthpiece that eventually became a Breslamair mouthpiece.

I’m guessing that if you look up recordings of the Vienna Philharmonic in the 1950s and 1960s you’ll be able to hear him.

Yes thank you. I've listened to a few clips of the recordings before I posted the question. What really made me get interested was an interview with Doc Severinsen in an ITG journal.
