help id this trumpet.

    estate sale find. old case is marked sherzer augsburg. horn looks to be silver plated. no markings except 1-2-3 on the valves and a serial number 566872. one person replied it to be a "stencil" horn made in the 40s 50s and possible by sherzer. the case as we all know may not be original to the horn. anyway....please have a look and take a guess or any info is appreciated. thx!!!

    The casings are Bohm-Meinl, plus the serial [ca. 1960s]. It seems Bohm-Meinl was contracted to make piston/upper brass for companies that specialized in other types [Alexander horns and tubas, Scherzer rotaries/piccs].

    You are right, I didn't see Augsburg but my comment was more on 'Sherzer'.
