Yeah, it's in his "New Concepts for Trumpet" book.

Blah, blah, blah, Suck it up! You have been given an opportunity by someone to show the audience that you are a little better than the run of the mill trumpet player.

Everyone gets nerves. You'll be fine, just get it done. You can fall apart after the show.
Remember, you're a trumpet player for Pete's sake. You're playing God's own instrument.

    Earth. For sure.
Thanks guys :) The concert went swimmingly, and I rocked it out in my solo. My chops were great the next day. I actually tried a lot of your advice. I put away my trumpet, had some cold water, chilled out, then later on just played on my mouthpiece for a while. Once I was calmer, I sounded a bit better, but by the next day I sounded right back to normal. I played for a warm up in the construction room of our school, and the echoey awesomeness made me feel even more confident. The newspaper even took a great picture of me soloing :) It was a great night, and we all had fun. Thanks again for the advice.
