Over the summer I had all of my wisdom teeth out and during my recovery time my lower jaw had its growth spurt. Before this I had a slight overbite and my mpc placement was a little low on my chops and I would play with my upper lip kind of flapping loose. After my change, this embouchure no longer worked for me whatsoever. The embouchure I switched to (and currently use) had a slightly higher placement than before (so about 50/50) and I would curl in my upper lip. I found that with this new setup my tone improved a lot, but my range was decreased greatly. Recently I've been noticing my range problems moreso because I'm in the pit for '42nd street', and I found that the reason for this decrease in range and other problems is because my lips meet slightly above where my teeth do, and when I curl in my lip my airstream is disrupted and also my lip is really pinned against my teeth and isn't vibrating freely.
any suggestions for trying to uncurl it?
