On an oldies station I heard Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass's hit "A Taste of Honey." It has some very tasty trumpet playing. Does anyone know the make and model trumpet that Alpert played?

At that time he played a Benge. Not sure of the model but it may have been a 3X or 5X. If you look closely at the third valve slide you can see the distinctive Benge bracing.

He played a Chicago Benge on most or all of his recordings. I am not familiar with, or if he has recent recordings. As stated he now plays a Callet. Info from " Trumpet Gearhead". It was most likely a ML bore, most Chicago models are.
