What was the highest note ever recorded on a B-flat trumpet? (or other keys, doesn't really matter) Also, who played it?

I heard a really high note played by some guy once. It was nuts.

    YouTube - F over Triple C

This is higher: F over triple high C. By the way, the guy shown is not the one playing it, he just faked it while a recording was played. The real player i s Andrea Tofanelli. He is better than Maynard at high notes. Unlike most, they are REAL notes, not a pinched off sequel that sounds like a tea kettle. That's what counts.

    Fixed it for ya. ;-)

Maynard in his prime was nigh untouchable when you consider all of the aspects of his high note playing:

    1.) range
    2.) sound
    3.) control
    4.) flexibility
    5.) STYLE!

    Just my opinion of course.

That's easy. It was Cat Anderson on Duke Ellington's recording The Great Paris Concerts. Duke said of the note that Cat hit "That was a high C above Hyannis Port"

Cat Anderson on the Duke Ellington's 70th birthday cd. He plays some notes that would set the page on fire if they were written.
