The advice I was given was "Hold her lightly and kiss her gently".

    Regards, Stuart.

A stange thing has happened since I started this thread back in October just a couple of days after getting the new horn: I have played twelve two-hour rehearsals, five concerts, and eleventy-upteen hours of practice with the cornet and, wonders of wonders, my left hand no longer hurts from gripping the horn, even when I hold it with all my fingers above the third valve slide and let the bell rest on my index finger. Weird things happen when I just practice. I seem to be playing better as well. :play:;-)

By the way, tedh1951, you pretty much told me this would happen. Thanks.
