Hi there everyone! I was wondering what the history is behind this horn? My bugle corps issued one made in the seventies to me. I hear they are very good quality, almost professional.

Well, BCM, you have quite a few good activities there. For Holton info, google horn-u-copia or Horn-u-copia an click on the Holton thread for lots of info and photos. Also, there is a new sited Holton Loyalist.com - Dedicated to the Frank Holton & Co.; Makers of High Grade Band Instruments which has a lot of data and lore on Holtons. I have a 53 Collegiate cornet which is a good student model. The older horns before WWII were closer to pro I think I ran into somewhere. You can find serial number lists for pre 1980 horns on Lars Kirmser's Horn Trader site, Lars Kirmser's Music Trader - Proprietary Serial Number Instruments
