Dupac, I didn't see your answer when typing my previous reply but I'm reading your mind (or you mine)! What's going on? Is it because of the mutual sympathy?

My goal for age 70 is just to stay 6 feet above ground! Not ready to reach Dizzy's level just quit yet.

Thanks, you are too flattering !
My recipe : try Bordeaux wine instead of Gin+Tonic…

Hem… I like also Tequila Sunrise, Ron+Coke, and many others … with great moderation of course, believe me !

It isa pity you donot have a local band, as you will really improve when playing with others. You can play good trumpet, and keep developing your range, it will not happen overnight. But with what you have said, I have confidence it will happen.

My only advice is to keep only on 1 horn and mouthpiece for the moment, not se=witching with cornets etc. Put in the same 1 to 1 and a half hours of practice daily, and play tunes that make it easier to follow. As long as you keep enjoying it, then have fun and keep doing it. Playing with like minded people opens up the world of music. It is more fun with others... Hang in there.

Yes I know trumpet players who cannot play above a Hi C. Work on your sound and make music.

I quit drinking so I'm left with tea only (no coffee also) but I hope wine doesn't have that much of a significant role in upper range development?
