Funny question... but I've heard it said several different ways....
LAU as in Loud
RE as in rest
A as in "Ah HA!"
NO as in not tonight, I have a headache.
You're right Fusion, that is a funny question....and it came with a funny answer.

Huh, I've been thinking it all wrong for some time now. Meh. I still imagine Manny sounding like John Wayne, so what do I know?
I not surprised, amigo. When I gave a lecture at the ITG in London, I was introduced many times as Manny Lori-A-no (long A) which is, I'm sure, the pronunciation you've have in your head.

That's the one I had in my head, too.
And as for my surname..... with a 'y' by name and with an 'i' by nature. It's pronounced the same either way...

... I had it wrong too and I speak both Spanish and Portuguese... shame on me...
I will remember how to say the "RE" now by thinking of Trumpet in D !!!
