19 and 9
21, and 13 in trumpet years
44 years young, and 34 in trumpet years.
My age is best described in terms of Leroy Anderson:
I am young enough in trumpet years for you to change my diaper, burp me, and sing me a (trumpeter's) lullaby.
But old enough in actual years to have performed Bugler's Holiday in 1973 flanked by a couple of Puerto Rican buglers at the 92nd Street Y.
May I call you Dada?
59 trumpet years Seems like yesterday.
6 non-trumpet (age 0 to 6)
25 trumpet (first grade through college plus a couple more fun years)
25 non-trumpet (making a living and raising a family)
4 trumpet (playing for "fun" kinda. That's hard to do because I get real serious about trumpet real quickly. But any way I'm still not back to where I was, when I stopped playing-but I'm getting there.)
That about does it with the break down. 60 total with 29 on trumpet.
25 in belly-button years... 10 in trumpet years. Took about 2 years off a couple years ago, and was forced to put the horn down for a year in Iraq.
*Jaw drops at the spurring of a distant memory*
... and those trumpeters initials were Manny L. and Jose M.?
40 in human years. (Still climbing the hill, not over it yet!)
29 in trumpet years. (took a year off in 6th grade).
Chronological years-- 52
Trumpet years-- 11 . . . (28 years thinking about playing again) . . . plus 2 (and counting)
