Thanks for sharing that, Rowuk! Somehow I already knew it. I guess that despite my avatar, I am not a birdbrain.

Good video. I can attest that since taking up trumpet again, I've solved the Rubik's cube, passed the Bar exam in 3 states, written a thesis on female psychology, and painted the Eiffel Tower on the head of a pin, and that was just Week 1........

In all seriousness, when I decided to have another go on the horn (2 years ago this month), I firmly believed it would benefit my long-term mental health. I'd never seen the process broken down like it was in that video, though - very informative. Thanks for sharing, sir!

This is good. So I guess it makes up for all the brain cells we kill playing high notes!

great my brain will be fine --- but blood clots in my lungs, kidney stones, and almost dying from playing high notes has me a little worried ----

My father was a very accomplished musician and played nearly until the day that he died. As old age began to ravage him in the final months of his life, he never lost the ability to play the most beautiful melodies on his guitar. I think all of us know the power of playing music.
