Happy Holidays everyone. My son just finished cleaning and oiling his Strad. He's having some trouble correctly reinserting and positioning the valves. On his previous trumpet, a student Yamaha, he tells me there are numbers that helped him correctly position the valves.

    Can somebody help us?

    Thanks very much!

The numbers are on the brass part facing forward where the spring is.

The smaller side of the valve guide goes on the leadpipe side.

Start with valve 3. Insert the one labelled 3 and spin it until air blows through. Then do valve 2, and then 1.
