OK, very odd question....but is there an easy way to get rid of silver plating without damaging the brass underneath?
More pointedly, is there a do it yourself method to do it at home?

No. Send it to Anderson's, they can remove it.

Not unless you like having concentrated Sulphuric Acid at home.

There is actually a safe way to do this (electro-plating using the horn as the anode) but the cost of the equipment is probably much more expensive than sending it to Anderson's.

Go to the local masonry yard, or hardware store, buy a gallon or 2 of Muriatic acid, heat it to about 150-180, don't inhale the fumes, immerse and agitate until silver is removed.
Sort of leaves a matte surface on the brass though.
