The brass finishes on horns really shine up nice when they are delacquered. The nickel... not so much. Any suggestions?

Semicrome or MAAS metal polish will make short work of the tarnish on most any metal, although, in my opinion, it's a little too abrasive for silver plating. Here is what MAAS can do (the leadpipe and slide receivers are nickel):

I also use MAAS metal polish on my nickel plated horn.

I use the MAAS,but really like the Flitz Metal polish over all. Seems less gritty, should not scratch the metal. There is I believe, two grades of Flitz metal polish. One has a stronger longer lasting metal preserver in it.

Great stuf, can get good buys off E-bay sometimes. Shop around on E-Bay and Amazon.com etc. for the best prices. I prefer the better grade brand.
