Hello everybody! I’m Jim from Charlottesville, Virginia. I’ve just recently picked up my horn again after a hiatus of 27 years. I started playing in ’72 on a King Cleveland and graduated to my Silver Flair in ’76 or ’77 (serial #588). This is the horn I’m playing now in the Praise Team at my church. I’m excited to be playing again and looking forward to the interaction on this site!

Thanks for the warm welcome! Praise music is the reason I've picked up my horn again after all of these years. I felt the call of the Lord to play, and with a lot of practice and prayer I'm contributing to our music ministry and having a blast!:-)

    What's praise music? Hymns?

I guess you could call Praise music contemporary Christian music. We use a guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, sax, flute and trumpet. Sometimes we do play traditional hymns, with a twist, but we play mostly contemporary, upbeat stuff. Hope that answers your question!
