I've read that before. Thanks for posting it. I do actually like the way my Pinto plays (maybe it's the "turbotron" valves). It is a free blowing horn and I like it better than my Ambassador (and it's much rarer).

Good stuff! I want a "Turbotron" on my trumpet. In fact, how have I gotten along this far without one???

The Turbotron option is only available on the Pinto or Ranger. I would go for it!! Who knows, maybe this coupled with your Monette mpc will put you on the "map"!:roll:ROFLROFL

If the lord had meant valve clusters to be made out of plastic, we would also have had the tubing coated on the inside with teflon for more air speed. Alas, the clusters turned out to be the devils work cursing all pros that need a cluster to count on. I guess if resonance is secondary, why not!

Pinto? Ranger? When did Ford start making trumpets? What's next, the Taurus or (more to my style) the Econoline with a V-4 valve block? And I guess we should change the valve oil every 3,000 notes?

We have a couple of those Rangers here in the LA area!!!!! .. I watch the price drop every few weeks .... started at $250 ( what a deal ) .... I wonder if your hands stick to the valve casing when it gets over 100 degrees .. I am waiting until the price gets down to 25 cents

Hey, I'd give $50 for a Ranger in good shape if it was all there. Really...just for the funky factor.

Thats about what I paid for my Pinto. It had the original case with keys to locks that work! It also had the little monkey wrench used to disassemble the horn. And the mpc was not all messed up with plier marks. I wonder if the minimal bracing helps counteract the plastics dampening characteristics?:dontknow::-)
