    Not to be biased or anything, but try a student level aristocrat. They play very well and out on the field it projects nicely, plus you can probably get a cheapily priced one on ebay.

    Ok, So ive experienced marching with this tudent horn for a day, and i am actually impressed, the only cons being slightly slower valves than my Benge (obviously) and slightly heavier.

    Thanks for the update. I'm glad it worked out for you. Maybe with some conditioning the valves will improve but for marching, lightning valve are not normally needed. You have put a lot of minds at rest here.
