This one, I said it once!
As have I
Took my Triumph Thruxton 2013 in for a service this morning.
Wife caught me cleaning it beforehand in the driveway.
Her words " Why are you cleaning your bike before the service? Don't they normally do it?"
Response " Honey, I like to show them how I look after my pretty baby."
Her words " You're not thinking of selling her are you?"
Response " No Honey"
At bike shop..." So how much for a Trade In on the Daytona 675R ?"
Going to have to keep this lot very quiet until I arrive home on the new wheels.
Currently thinking of valid reasons for the change. Can't think of any just yet.
I had to buy it because; A combination of poor impulse control and emotional immaturity stroking my ego thru material desires.
Good luck, Paul!
They don't make the cam rollerised bearings anymore and if it broke it would be worthless or a small fortune to have fabricated... best to get something for it before that happens?
I have a friend who told his wife he sold his Sportster, but he actually traded it in on a Super Glide. He hid the Super Glide in a friend's garage for a while, but his wife figured it out pretty quickly. They were divorced shortly after that...
Sometimes my wife is a reluctant participant in my n+1 affliction, but I make sure she always knows, either before I buy it or before it arrives. Things are more pleasant around the house that way. No hiding new horns in quad cases or having horns shipped to different addresses...
When's the next time THAT horn is gonna be on craigslist??!! So far I've been right! Super Artist, Severinsen, Ambassador, Pinto, Super Deluxe and an ST-302! Of course if I don't check… .
Why do these things have such a hold over us? In some ways they can exceed the primacy of human relationships.
"I just saw a Bach 43 Anniversary horn with the gold bell wash and engraving on eBay and I want it"
"Don't you already have one?"
"Yes, but all the other guys have two!"
