    The 37 bell is a Bb bell other trumpets have a different set of bell numbers

    These letters indicate the material and weight of the bell. G is gold brass H is heavy weight, both with darken the sound. Some players find the heavy weight harder to play, saying it takes more energy to play but produces more volume and depth in tone. I've never played a heavy so this is all hearsay.

    Although that GH looks like it was carved on as an afterthought. I don't know if that's how it's supposed to be but it looks weird.
