I had a blast pampering my 1968 Getzen Etherna Doc Severinsen trumpet. As you can see from the posted photo this 48 year old baby is hot and sexy. I gave her a deep cleaning and a bath with a mix of salt, baking soda placed over aluminum foil and hot water. This chemical reaction took away the tarnish from the silver plating leaving the trumpet shinny and spotless. After finishing the Getzen, my 42 year old Selmer Paris Radial was screaming at me for equal treatment. What can I say...? I have a preference for oldies who can still roar and age to perfection.

I love my old Selmer Radial, it is such a classic, but sadly, it barely plays now because the valves are so leaky. Someday, I plan on restoring it.

I feel the same way about my Doc Sev. Best purchase I ever made.
