Hi, I have just released a collection of pieces written in the low register for Trumpet players with braces called Brace Yourself for Brass. Check it out at Foxy Dots Music | Brace Yourself
I'm based in the UK but am happy to ship it to anywhere in the world!

I have had students from those where it made essentially no difference all the way to whiners that had trouble playing long tones.

The geometry of your face changes dramatically and the sharp edges are a pain if you do not have good habits. The better your breath support is, the easier it will be.

What I have observed with my students is that if they don't have good breath support and good posture when they first get braces, they soon do. I remind them that I've been telling them to work more with their air-flow and less with pressure, but now they have built in "pain-masters" to enforce the "less-pressure-more-air-flow" concepts of better trumpet playing far better than I could ever impress on them.
