K.O. Skinsnes, President of Stomvi-USA will be at the Kutztown University Brass Day giving a seminar on, “The Mouthpiece/Trumpet Annulus (Gap)” What it is, what it does, and how adjusting it by as little as 1/32” can turn a bad trumpet into a great one and can make or break your performance. The gap is by far the most important dimension any trumpet player can adjust to maximize the potential of their mouthpiece and trumpet system. In explaining why, I cover many topics from intonation through trumpet and mouthpiece design, valve alignment and more. Once your set-up is optimized, your frustrations are minimized and you can have more fun!

    Thursday, November 8th:
    11:30 a.m. in Old Main 31
and 6:30 p.m. in Old Main Blue Room

I've tried to show people around here the importance of gap, but most of us are brain-washed. It is either ALL about equipment, or equipment means nothing. The ones that listened though noticed a huge difference though.
