    I don't know... it is spelled a couple different ways.

    Manteca, Arturo, on Trumpet Evolution. Not much of a solo, but FUN.

    I think it is indeed a Dizzy song, spelled Mandinka.

    So many, but to pick one it'd be Lee Morgan's solo on the Art Blakey's "Big Beat" album (Blue Note). Check it out-- wild, wacky, brazen and impetuous. Too loud, too high, sometimes barely in control, sometimes going out a limb from which he can barely return (but he does).

    Fearless and inspired! The kind of stuff I'd pay money to see.

    A true trumpet player!
