    Jonah Jones "Muted Jazz"

If you don't know Jonah, you should look him up.

The man was flat out fabulous!

On Muted Jazz he plays everything muted, cup mute, bucket mute, straight mute, Harom mute, with and without the stem, plunger, and pixie with plunger.

Muted doesn't mean soft either. The man's power and range are fantastic.

Growling, lips trills, (real ones) glisses. From low F#s to high Gs the man had a complete control of the trumpet

He does not solo like people do now days, his solos went somewhere! None of this modern "chromatic searching" which is all I hear now days. He plays musically and melodically!

He puts on a clinic on "Undecided", and "Blue Heaven".

His version of "I Can't Get Started" could move you to tears and make Bunny envious.

His inging is also very good. He might make you forget Louis on "Mack The Knife".

The BEST album I have ever listened to....bar none.

When people ask who my favorites are....I always let them know about Bunny, and Harry and Hirt, but ALWAYS tell them the best was JONAH!
