    Hello TM

This fall I will be an incoming freshman to Northern Kentucky University for music education. What I wanted to know, is there anything that I should prepare for or do? Anything I need to buy? Or just any advice for a soon to be freshman music major?

    Thank you in advance!
    Zach

If you are taking trumpet lessons contact your teacher right away and ask for the syllabus which should contain the books that you will need and what is expected of your playing.

If you aren't already playing piano, get a good head start this summer.

Get your theory knowledge together. You might be able to get a jump past some courses.

Be sure to join marching band. It is highly recommended for music education majors and a great way to meet people.

What's really great about all this is you get to stay in your neighborhood. Northern Kentucky (Ft. Thomas area) is a very nice place. Welcome to TM.

True, you'll be running into your friends a lot doing this activity (hopefully without getting struck by a tuba... ouch them things hurt!)
