Mark, thanks for the info. I confess I'm surprised that you didn't jump all over me for my third valve "B's". I've been told I am bad. But I once met Rex Stewert, who watched me (politely) for a moment. He asked where I had learned that trick on "B" in the staff, then he said "You're in pretty rare company, Bix Beiderbeck used todo the same thing" Good enough for Beiderbeck, good enough for me.

You dont need to buy the Arban. Its free to download in PDF format (and legal). I think there are links to it here on TM. If you want it and cant find it, let me know and I'll look through my history and post it up.

It's been a couple of months since I posted this strategy. I'd like to hear progress reports from those who have actually implemented it into their daily practice.

It's not hard. It just takes some discipline.

And the results are well worth it.

No, not any longer. It was a 1949 500cc Red Hunter. Very good hydraulic forks, and that wonderful Antsey Link rear suspension. It started easily, shifted beautifully (Burman 4 spd. box). It was beyond belief well made. I loved it dearly. But then I had to sell it 15 years later. Baby needed shoes.
