info on trumpet player

    hi everyone. i just started learning cornet at ripe age of 55. i bought a holton collegiate for a very good price after getting some good advice on this site. i lucked ou and found a teacher who really know his stuff. as we ahve progressed in lessons he let on that he played with thestan kenton band. he playd some of his recordings and i was impressed.

    just for s and giggles i have been trying to research him. noting coming up. does anyone out there knowa sam hand. he also taught in pinellas county fl. he does investments now.

    Hello, Legallee - Welcome to Trumpetmaster.
    Congratulations on starting the cornet. I have a Holton Collegiate and they are very nice horns for learning to play. I'm happy to hear that you have found a good teacher. That is a major key to learning the right techniques and habits.

    I have not heard of Sam Hand but then I am in California so he's not exactly a local fixture here. But, if he's good for you, that is really all you need to know.
