I was originally inspired by the trumpet player who would come to our church every easter, I was in the church choir so I was very close to the action, I especially liked the pieces which required the trumpet with four buttons, those pieces reminded me of the theme song of "masterpiece theatre" on pbs, which I always thought was a really boring show but always watched the intro just to hear the song. By the time I picked up a trumpet i was no longer so crazy about baroque trumpet music so I'm not sure why I chose it above the other wind instruments or the strings. I only played for one year before switching to French Horn. When I went back to the trumpet a couple years ago I was definitely inspired by Miles Davis, now I am inspired by sax players more than anyone else (Bird, Rollins, Coltrane, Dolphy)
