Jack Sheldon. He is still alive, and lives in Vegas I believe. There is a documentary about him. He still performs.

You betcha. I think he's recorded easily over 20 albums, was a mainstay of West Coast Jazz, played with Kenton, did studio work, etc, etc, etc. Probably best known to the general public as an actor, but has had (and still does) a very active musical life. I don't think I'd characterize him as "mostly on t.v.". I first heard him when I got a Kenton album, "The Stage Door Swings" and was taken aback at his sound, which seemed to me at the time as if he was playing with a cold. Might've even been playing a flugelhorn, for all I knew. Anyway, musically and personality-wise, this guy's a work of art.

(p.s. anthony - is your computer missing apostrophes, periods, capital letters, etc? ;-)
