Well... I got rid of the one wife that always kept nagging about my being at rehearsals and whatever, and now I am preparing to marry the next. To make sure everything goes smoothly, I've made sure she's learning trumpet! And very talented, too (well, she's a professional opera singer, so I don't really need to teach her breathing technique and stuff...)

I have found that wives prefer their husbands not to lie at all...

My wife (model number two) is fantastic, she is a french horn player an so understands the need to practice. I leave my horn on it stand so I can just go into th music room and pick it up with out messing around. Love her and love the horn. :play:

My wife is the one who pushed me under this comeback bus....or something like that. It's the sudden desire to acquire a mountain of horns that she doesn't like.

Then she must accept the consequences of her motivating you in that direction.
If you pushed her to start gardening, she wouldn't be satisfied with one pansy or begonia, now would she?

Need to check out Nick DeCarlis' displays. Cabinet after cabinet of cornets. Like walking into a museum.

It's shiny and silver. Just get it engraved with your names and the date of the wedding and you could leave it on the coffee table if you chose.....

In case things don't work out I'd recommend that you just engrave the third valve slide finger ring. Easy to replace.
