Thought someone might be looking for a Bach Strad for a Chritmas gift. If you are a parent about to buy a horn, please read this. I have a like new Bach Strad clone- the Kanstul 1537 that I would be glad to see go to a good home. Background information- I bought the horn for my son who was headed off to college in music (I am a former band director and trumpet player). Wanted him to have "the best" -thinking many of the students would show up with Bach Strads and the Kanstul would be a notch above. Anyway, bought the horn, he gets to the university and they give all of the students a horn as they want everyone on the same model. Go figure. So, essentially there was no need for us to buy the horn. Figured if anyone was hunting a great buy on a pro horn, this would be it.

If you are unfamiliar with Kanstul, then check out Kanstul.com. They make fabulous horns. The Kanstul 1537 is Ziggy's copy/improvement of the Bach Strad 37. Also, I have never worried about buying a Kanstul horn unplayed because, unlike Bach, there consistency is impeccable.

This horn is as close to new as you can get. In fact, for a gift, the receiver would never know it wasn't brand new. Probably has 8 hours playing on it- just like off the showroom shelf.

Price? Kanstul says mid $3k MSRP. eBay has a used for $1750. Let's say $1650 for my price. Now you talked me down. I'm glad to let it go for what I have in it - $1460 plus shipping. I'm glad to hang on to it but figured some parent is fixing to lay out far more from a Strad when this would cost much less and will be a far superior horn. More pics available. Gorgeous and plays tops!

Thanks. In my book it is "brand new" but legally I probably shouldn't say that. It is a fabulous horn. We always get these parents asking for advice on TM. Would love to see it go to someone hunting a really good Strad. It plays like one of the "best" Strads. Kanstul knows what he is doing. I played my Kanstul Chicago (1000) today against a Strad in rehearsal and feel the Kanstul was better.

I'm sorry, but that is way out of my price range. I'm a high school student, and therefore, I can't exactly pay for a $1500 trumpet, and my parents would absolutely refuse to pay for it either...

How about half & halfing the price with your parents?

Actually, it turns out they had bought me a blessings horn, one of the last on MusiciansFriend, and they presented it to me yesterday as a gift. I'm actually very pleased with it

As noted in your inbox, I would like to consider purchasing this, if you still possess it.
